Perms & Straightening
Perms & Straightening are both hair styling techniques done by professional hairdressers. Perm involves the use of heat and/or chemicals to break and reform the cross-linking bonds of the hair structure. Straightening involves flattening and straightening of hair to give it a smooth streamlined and sleek appearance.
Hair Perming has two types – cold perm and hot perm.
Cold Perming involves alkaline perm solutions that is used to make hair curled in cold perm process. Hair that underwent cold perm will get into desired shape easier as it is wet, getting more effects with gels or curling creams. Hot Perming requires acidic perm solutions and heat are used. Hot permed hair gets its best curling level when it is dry, therefore less maintenance is needed. One can use fingers to twirl and style the hair. There are different techniques to perming as well – ceramic perm, digital perm, wave perm and classic perm. All have different functions producing different types of curl of which one can consult a hair stylist for preference in curl types.
Hair Rebonding is a chemical hair treatment that makes your hair straight , sleek and shiny. It is a permanent procedure that needs post treatment care. Once hair is straightened , one must touch up every three to six months depending on the growth of the hair.
