Hair Loss or Baldness refers to any type of hair loss, thinning hair or baldness in any hairy region of the body. Baldness usually is referred to the scalp where men and women as they age tend to have hair loss.However, hair loss can be referred to any parts of the body that includes the eyebrow, body hair and pubic hair.
There are various types of hair loss that are mainly:

  • Involutional alopecia is a natural condition in which hair gradually falls and thins with age.
  • Androgenic alopecia is a genetic condition that can affect both men and women in which they begin suffering hair loss in early teens or early 20s.
  • Telogen effluvium is temporary hair thinning over the scalp that occurs because of changes in the growth cycle of hair.
  • Scarring alopecias result in permanent loss of hair due to inflammatory skin conditions result in scars that destroy the ability of the hair to regenerate.

Hair Loss is mainly known among men. However , As many as 5% of women under 30 and 60% of those older than 70 are affected. To reduce or limit the amount of hair loss, refrain from using hair dryers which can remove the protein in our hair even further that causes the hair to be brittle and eventually fall. Avoid from perming, rebonding or using any form of chemicals in the hair as well.
